I live in Marghzar Housing Cooperative Society which is situated on multan road near Jamat e Islami headquarters known as Mansura. There is social security hospital few yards away from my home. This hospital administrates by federal government of Pakistan and is under direct control of ministry of public health since 1980 when it was established. It has been recognized nationwide for its outstanding comprehensive services. Its medical, surgical and emergency care services provide each patient highest possible level of care. It also offers a range of specialized services as well as special healthcare programs for community. This hospital consists of three main blocks a, b, c including many grassy plots and large vehicle parking. Hospital administration offices and outdoor patient department OPD are in block A just at right side after main entrance. While surgical and emergency units are in Block B at front side. While clinical laboratory and medical services units are in block C which is at left side of main entrance. Medical Superintendent looks after administrative issues, normally a senior most surgeon appointed by health ministry. Five deputy medical superintends (DMS) assist him to ensure the provision of highest possible level of care and cure as well to the patients with the help of doctors and nurses. This hospital is providing medical facilities to patients of Allergy, Immunology and Pulmonology, Anesthesiology, Cancer (Oncology), Cardiology, Dermatology, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Digestive Diseases, Ear, Nose, and Throat (Otorhinolaryngology), Hematology (Blood Disorders), Nephrology (Kidney Disease), Neurology and Neuroscience, Obstetrics and ynecology, Ophthalmology.
Hospital emergency consists of four units that are critical care, emergency medicine, the burn centre and trauma & injury prevention unit. Surgical unit of this hospital is further divided in many sub surgical units like Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, General Surgery, Hand Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Lung Volume Reduction Surgery, Neurological Surgery, Ophthalmological Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Transplantation and weight loss surgery.
This hospital also offers specialized services in Center for Acute Respiratory Failure,
Center for Autism & the Developing Brain and Center for Eating Disorders.
The staff and physicians working there are competent and kind. Last weekend I got headache suddenly. I just visited OPD, where a doctor examined me and prescribed tablets.
I took those tablets and you will not believe after just fifteen minutes there was no headache any more. This hospital not only serving the community living around but people from all over the province visit this hospital and get relief.
