Phase 1: Students are given a list of words

Phase 2: Students are asked to write meanings of the words which they know

Phase 3: Teacher explains the meaning of the words

Phase 4: Students are asked to make sentences of those words

Phase 5: Students are given a story in which those words are used

Phase 6: Students are asked to use these words in the essay
