Why people of Dera Ismail Khan love Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan?

It is no secret that Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan is one of the most popular leaders of Pakistan. He has had an astounding career in the politics of Pakistan being the youngest member to be elected in the senate in the history of Pakistan. Till now he has served his country for 20 years in politics. Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan hails from Dera Ismail Khan one of the biggest cities in khyber pakhtonkhawa province of Pakistan. He is the son of Senator Gulzar Ahmed Khan who was a close aide and federal minister in the Benazir Bhutto regime. It is said that Senator Gulzar was the de facto Prime Minister of Pakistan with Benazir Bhutto taking his advice in all matters regarding the state affairs. Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan is a star among his people and can amass large crowds with just speaking only a few words. His people love him and regard him has their hero. Many of the youth in Dera Ismail Khan chant his name as a rallying cry to boost their bravery “Farzand-e-Dera” meaning son of Dera.
