It is 9-5 not 9-9

I do a job in a private company. I fail to understand one thing, why do they tell us that we are going to work from 9-5 when they make us work from 9-9. No one is there to ask them. We employees are the one who have to make all the compromises and sacrifices. The worst thing is that we not even appraised for the time which we give to the company, and at the end we have to hear the words which hurt our feelings and demotivate us.
