This is a question which has never been answered. There are many different people who present different opinions to support their choice. First of all I would like to make it clear that there is no difference between the AEO IELTS and British council IELTS. This means that no matter which IELTS exam you take, your IELTS score would be considered valid. Some people think that AEO IELTS is only recognized in Australia, and British council IELTS is only recognized in United Kingdom. This is a totally wrong belief, no matter which examining body you choose for the IELTS exam your IELTS score will be accepted worldwide. So, now let’s do a little comparison between AEO and British council.

Conclusion
Choose the examining body which you like? If you think that you would be more comfortable with AEO then you should choose AEO because you would have a psychological advantage. On the other hand if you feel that you would be more comfortable with separate headphones for the listening part then you should do go for the IELTS offered by British council. As the far as the preparation for the IELTS exam is concerned I do not think that you should not think any other institute other than PACANS IELTS.

AEO fee is 17,000 but BRITISH COUNCIL fee is 15,000 but
the papers checking by AEO is better than BRITISH COUNCIL
I need to score 7 band in each, so I have taken IELTS exam 5 times so far. I appeared 3 times in AEO. I scored 7 or 7+ in speaking and reading every time. However, I scored 6.5 in writing and listening. After that I decided to appear in British council. Bofore taking the exam in British council I did a lot of preparation for 3 months and then appeared for the exam. You know what, they gave me 6 band in speaking and in writing. I thought they may have made a mistake, so I re-took the exam. Guess what! the result remain the same. 6 band in speaking and in writing. According to my experience I will never ever recommand British Council to anyone, until you want to wast your time and money as I did. AEO is far more better than British council. I have registered this time for AEO, and I hope I will score 7 in each.
Brother with all due respect , you deserve the write band which is 6 in my opinion. My opinion is simply based on the spellings you wrote like Recommand (Recommend) and Wast (Waste)..!
I took IELTS 4 times and score was almost the same overall. the only difference was in 0.5 band. I got 7 in speaking, listening and reading in first test with AEO and again in second test with British but scored 6.5 each time in writing and had to retake. went again for British after headphones started and got 8 in listening 7 speaking and reading but again got 6.5 in writing. Tried AEO last time and astonishingly got 6.5 in speaking and 6.5 in listening and writing and 7 in reading.
I think test is same and in the last test at AEO in beach luxury the sound quality was not good that affected listening badly so yes i agree headphones have a huge impact on listening. test is always same as it comes from cambridge university and also checked by cambridge university.
