B.com English Essay: Unemployment
The economy of a country and social fabric of a nation are mutilated, tarnished and moth eaten by the menace of unemployment. The unexplored potential of youth becomes fruitless and the unemployed are transformed into mere burdens on finances rather than becoming an active member of society. Unemployment’s negative impacts are not restrained to a house but are fledged and vast. It destroys the social harmony and diminishes the overall optimistic attitude of a society.
Besides it is a lethal tool through which the disruption in Economy at national level reaches to the basic units i.e. household of a society and from here the vicious circle of poverty is intrigued. It becomes almost impossible to break this circle unless we are able to employ all of our potential. Now if we look into the reasons of Unemployment, then it is the product of economic crisis. Whenever a country’s economy is under developed and unable to adjust the inflow of aspirants, it results in unemployment or underemployment. The companies resort to layoff to cut down their expenditures and the people are unable to meet their expenses without income. Another reason behind the vast spread unemployment is the population explosion which has put the opportunities and inflow of potential employees out of balance.
In addition to that the resultant forces of unemployment are horrific. The violence and frustration threatens the harmony of society. People tend to opt for unlawful methods to earn money and it is easy for anti-state elements to allure them into terrorist activities. If we consider the special case of Pakistan, then half of the terrorist activities are outcomes of unemployment and has pushed the economy in quick sand.
To conclude, I would like to say that concrete steps are needed to support the declining economy and to provide equal employment opportunities to the capable persons. A sustainable economic system which takes into account the future employment needs and can absorb the ups and downs of international economies will be promising in our fight against unemployment.
