Poverty is the enemy of wisdom and logical thinking and it is only then the innocence of children is exploited by putting them to work. Young minds are the flag bearers of future and greatest asset of a country. But the vicious circle of deprivation snatches this potential out of them and turns them to mere money making machines.

A starved man can only think about filling his stomach. Parents in poor country tend to produce more offspring, as more number of family members means more number of bread earners. It is only possible by forcing them to work from an early age of 5-6. The term “child labour” is often defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development. The outcomes of such demanding physical work are inadequate mental growth, malnourishment and an early maturity.

Havocs of child labor are not limited here but the extreme forms include child molestation, bonded labor, slaved labors and physical thrashing. The other illicit activities are human trafficking, forced beggary and involuntary drug consumption. Whenever child labor increases, the literacy rate decreases and that means a generation denied from their basic right of education. Kids of the family may be able to earn few notes, however breaking the unending circle of poverty is impossible without education.

In a nutshell the causative factor of child labor is only one which is low level of incomes. To ensure a shining future of world we have to replace the tools with books. With the honest intentions we can envisaged a protected and child labor free world in future where innocence is intact and blooming.
