Means of transportation in my country
With the growth in technology, life has become a race against clock. The transportation of goods and transfer of people from one place to other has also developed with the time and this development is solely focused on the principle of saving time and increasing efficiency.
Moreover; just like all other countries, Pakistan has acquired many means of transportation on her road to prosperity. The examples of most commonly used private transports are cycles, motorcycles, scooters and cars, whereas public transports are buses, qingqi rickshaws, rickshaws, trains and trams. The other rarely used example is Airplanes which are only used for long distance travel and are an expensive service. Another declining mode of transportation with in the city is horse carriages. The goods and commodities are generally transported by trucks, trolleys and dumper trucks.
The inter city and intra city public transports are facilitated with network of roads and is the often used service to cover short distances and long distances. Bus services to travel across the country are available at convenient times and are easily accessible. Air travel remains the most efficient mode of travel but with the soaring oil prices, the travel rates are out of common man’s reach. Additionally, the time consumed at airports makes it unsuitable for short distance intra city travels.
Contrary to that the country’s transportation system depends upon the imported oil and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), the recent energy crisis has adversely affected the whole system. Fare hikes have become a daily affair and people are unable to manage their own transports. Government pledges to solve this issue in the near future so that the transportation system can function to its fullest again.
