IELTS Listening Module
IELTS Listening module
The listening module of the IELTS exam is going to last for about 25 minutes and the candidate will have answer 40 questions in this section. An audio would be played and candidate will have to listen to the audio and at the same time answer the questions which are going to be present in front of them. The audio is going to be played only once and the candidate cannot rewind the audio. Candidates will get 10 extra minutes to transfer their answers to the answer sheet.
There are going to be 4 sections in the listening module of the IELTS exam
Section 1
Section 1 on IELTS is the easiest one. Candidate will have to listen to the audio and write the answers to the questions. In section 1 the candidate would be expected to fill in the blanks and understand one-word answers or numbers. Looking at the words or numbers with the blanks will help the IELTS candidate in knowing on which question the audio is.
Section 2
Section 2 of the IELTS listening would be having multiple choice question or the table questions. In the multiple choice questions there would be 3 choices and the exact words would never be said in the audio. The candidate will have to listen to the audio and a similar word of the answer would be present in the answers, so the in other words the candidate should have good English vocabulary and response time.
Section 3
Most questions on the third section would be multiple choice questions or map questions. In the multiple choice questions the candidate will have to choose from 3 options and in the map questions the candidate will have to look at the map and fill in the blanks in the map by listening to the audio
Section 4
Section 4 of IELTS is going to be the most difficult section and most candidates get more than half of the questions wrong. The problem which the candidates face is that the order of the sentence structure in the questions is different than the order which is used in the listening audio. If the audio is being given in active voice the fill in the blank questions would be appearing in passive voice which will confuse the candidates.
