Qatar
Qatar is an Arabic state. It shares its border with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain .The state of Qatar is surrounded by water from three sides that makes it a peninsula. The currency used in Qatar is Qatari Riyal .The major share of the people there are Arabic and thus the prevailing language is Arabic. Major portion of the land is owned by the native people .The state of Qatar is rich with oil reserves.
I happened to visit this country second quarter of 2012 .I planned the trip as I was on annual leaves and I love travelling .I contacted my friend in Qatar ,so that he could make all the basic arrangements for me .Qatar has its own airline . I opted to go via Dubai .I had a one day transit stay at Dubai .The journey till Dubai was very comfortable .But i experienced some unexpected delay in our connecting flight to Qatar .All the agony and tiredness of the journey washed away as I landed on Qatar soil .I entered Qatar through DOHA international airport .Doha is the capital city of Qatar .The airport justified it .It was a huge airport .The building structure was marvelous .Within a short while my friend came to pick me up and took me to his residence .As I stepped out of the airport I felt scorching heat . As if I stepped into an oven .I was relieved that the car had air conditioning in it .Qatar climate is usually very hot mostly .My friend’s apartment was on the 30th floor of a tall building .I rested there for a while and then as my stay was only limited to a week , I asked him to take me for a tour of the country .We encompassed almost every corner of Doha in three days .Shopping malls ,historical buildings, museums, stadiums and mosques .
It was time for me to bid goodbye to this majestic country .I couldn’t get time to travel through whole of Qatar .But the time I spent there was quite memorable .I hope to go back some other time and see the places I missed during my first tour .
