What is IELTS?
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. The exam is offered by British Council and AEO (Australian Education Office). The students who attempt the exam are referred to as the candidates. This test is taken by the students who want to study or work in a country where English is spoken as a first language. This test is taken by the non-native speakers of the English language. This is a written test and there are 4 modules in the test: Speaking, Reading, Listening, and Writing. Native speakers of English language are not required to take the IELTS exam. For instance an Australian would not be asked to take an IELTS exam if he or she wants to study in Canada.
